Hacker site eval.

On the Hacker site I clicked on the grammar exercises and did the first exercise. Inside I was asked to choose between two sentences. I was supposed to pick which sentence sounded clearer or made use of the topic of the certain quiz. Some of the things I learned from the exercise was first how to identify passive and active sentences. At first I was very confused about what those where. The second part of the activity was something that I had not known before. Parallelisms are when you are using the same tense or way of saying something in two related sentences. This act ensures that your writing will flow better and will not sound out of place. This leads me to the next thing that I learned on the Hacker site. By combining ideas from simple sentences you can make your writing sound less choppy. This also helps the flow of your writing because readers are not forced to pause as much. I think the thing that will help me the most in my writing is the use of parallelisms.

Story-in-a-box Evaluation

I had a tie for what I thought was the best story-in-a-box. The most important parameter in my grading scale was whether or not the writer kept the reader interested in the story. I feel like keeping your audience involved and wanting to read your story is very important.
